William's Story

DANVERS, MA - William MaxDonald Labsolu was born in Rouen, Normandy, France. His mother's name was Alberta.
William enjoyed school and was a good student. A favorite subject of his was geography. He attended church and at age 12 was an altar boy. Following school he worked in graphic arts. He also attended the Conservatory of Music and received voice training. He loved to sing and had a beautiful tenor voice.
In France, William served two years in the armed forces and received an honorable discharge. One and a half of those years he served in Sanajah, Mauritanea (the extreme coast of West Africa).
William traveled extensively and easily learned other languages, He came to the U.S. in 1963, having secured employment here beforehand. He was employed by the garment industry prior to being hired by Raytheon. At Raytheon, he earned a career in Facilities Management, working out of Andover, Mass. Included in his position, he welcomed and made accommodations for dignitaries arriving at Raytheon from other countries. William continued working in his position until retirement.
William was a wonderful person, completely selfless and always giving. He was a true french gentleman, "dapper" in his dress and sophisticated. He loved flowers and enjoyed gardening. He was a former member of the Dracut Garden Club.
William loved dogs. During his lifetime he owned several small dogs. His last adorable dog was a poodle named Gigi.
In his advanced stages of Alzheimers, William received the blessings of extra special care by hospice and his passing was peaceful. William had no siblings or children, but leaves, and will forever be missed by his sweetheart, Rosemary.
A private Memorial Service was held at the Dracut Funeral Home on Friday, March 9. Contributions may be made in his name to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
