Allyn E. Ratcliffe, 76, passed away August 8, 2017, battling brain cancer for several months.
Born in Lawrence to the late Howard and Etta Ratcliffe, he lived and raised his family in North Andover. Al graduated from North Andover High School and after serving in the U.S. Navy for two years, he attended Lowell Tech and Mass Trade School in Boston. He was a retired field engineer for NCR and a skilled craftsman and tinkerer. Al was an active minister of Jehovah's Witness from 1971 until his death. Al was known for his sense of humor and the love he showed to friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila of 56 years; son, Mark and wife, Linda; daughter, Kathy Cagney and husband, Alan; brother, Howard Ratcliffe; grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer, and Joshua; and great-grandson, Sammy.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 35 Ferry St., Lawrence. Friends may visit before and after the service at this location.
