Ana M.'s Story
Ana Silva, 61, of Lawrence, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.
Ana was born in the Azores, in Portugal and was the daughter of John and Etelvina Silva.
Ana came to America with her family as a small child at the age of seven and settled in Lawrence. She attended Lawrence public schools.
She started her working career at Cardinal Shoe Co. in Lawrence and later moved on to Alco Corp. and when Alco closed, she worked at Raytheon.
She loved having bird feeders in her yard and spent countless hours watching the different birds come to eat. Her family brought her great joy and loved spending time with them; she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Silva of Lawrence; her children, Michael Silva and his wife, Loyda of Lawrence; and her daughter, Dina Haddad and her husband, Bassam of Andover; and three grandchildren. Ana also leaves her siblings, Manuel Silva and his wife, Yorka of Florida, Tony Silva of Methuen, Fatima Lima and her husband, Eutimo of Lawrence, Margarida Silva of Florida, Leanor Silva and Susan Silva, both of Portugal; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Thursday, July 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral services will take place on Friday, July 21, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow her services at Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
