Anita Ouellette, 94, of Plaistow, N.H., daughter of the late Louis Flory and Cordelia (Perrin) Flory of New York City, N.Y., and Lowell, Mass., passed away peacefully with her caregivers from Wingate at Haverhill by her side. Anita lived with her grandson, Steve Ouellette, and his wife, Kathy in their home, prior to her passing on April 24, 2017. Born June 26, 1922, Anita left school at an early age to raise her siblings, sacrificing her own needs to care for her brothers and sisters, later working for Western Electric in North Andover, Mass., as an assembler, from where she would eventually retire.
Predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Robert Ouellette was the love of her life since their first meeting as teenagers, when she was 13. Anita will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Ronald Ouellette and his wife, Germaine of Methuen, Mass.; grandchildren, Steven Ouellette and his wife, Kathy of Plaistow, N.H., Michelle (Ouellette) Rowe and her husband, William of Methuen, Mass.; six great-grandchildren, Caleigh, Anna, Braeden, Owen, Emily, and Julia. She had many nieces and nephews, including Macene Crawford of Westminster, Md., and Carol Burgard of Plaistow, N.H. Anita was predeceased by brothers, Wilfred Flory of Florida, Paul Flory of Florida; sisters, Louise (Flory) Picard of Maryland and Estelle Flory of Massachusetts. Anita is survived by brother, Edgar Flory and his wife, Liz of Colorado; sisters, Gloria Flory of Texas and Claire (Flory) Vickerman of Minnesota.
An accomplished square dancer of 41 years, and a league bowler for more than 30 years, Anita also loved to travel, and visited every state in the USA except Alaska, which she was fond of telling grandson, Owen to “make sure he goes!” Anita was very close to her family, loved them dearly, and will be sorely missed by her family, and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Anita’s Life Celebration on May 5, 2017, from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH, with a funeral service to follow at 5:30 p.m. To send a message of condolence to the family or to find directions to our home, please visit www.brooksidechapelfh.com.
