Anthony A.'s Story
Anthony A. Pinto, 89, of Dracut, passed away on May 1, 2017, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, Mass. Born in Lawrence on January 21, 1928, Anthony was the son of the late Vincenzo and Quintilia (Mazzocco) Pinto. He graduated from Lawrence High School and later honorably served in the U.S. Army. After working for many years in the shoe industry in Lawrence and Lowell, Anthony went on to work as a real estate consultant for 40 years, mostly at Gilbert G. Campbell, Inc., in Lowell. He was a longtime member of the Italian-American Civic Association in Lawrence.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Shirley M. (Fuoco) Pinto, to whom he was married for 49 years; his sister, Ann (Pinto) DeMonaco; and his brother, Gene Pinto. Anthony is survived by his three daughters, Cheryl Pinto and her husband, Ron Madigan of Peabody, Karen Pinto of Billerica, and Leslie Pinto-Bowden and her husband, Russell Bowden of Groveland. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Molly and Hannah Pinto Madigan, and Eric Bowden; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13 at the Chapel at West Parish Cemetery in Andover.
