Antonio “Santo” Casado Cruz died peacefully at home on August 3, 2017, in Lawrence, Mass. at the age of 69.
Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Orgelia Casado; sons, Emmanuel and Ariel Casado; daughter, Claudia Casado; daughter-in-law, Alicia Casado; grandchildren, Jeffrey Leines, Wildalys Garcia, Abel Perez, Tyrese Casado, and Jonas Casado of Lawrence. He also leaves behind many siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramona Cruz and Rodolfo Casado of Santo Domingo; his siblings, Jose, Amparo, and Juan Casado.
Antonio was born on April 19, 1948, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He graduated from Liceo Fray Capriano De Utreras in Santo Domingo. He married Orgelia Casado, his lifelong sweetheart in 1980. He relocated to Lawrence in 1979, and began working for Heinz Company where he worked as a baker. Antonio was an excellent husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with grandchildren, and playing dominoes. Antonio was a member of the Flowing River International Church, where he had always received his support from all his loving brothers and sisters in Christ.
A funeral is scheduled for Monday, August 7, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Perez Funeral Home located at 298 Broadway St., Lawrence. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Antonio’s life.
