Bernadette "Bernie" M.'s Story
Bernadette "Bernie" M. Thibault, 88, a 22 year resident of Pelham, N.H., and formerly 30 years of Salem, N.H., passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, in the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. She was born in Lawrence, Mass., a daughter of the late Remi and Alphonsine (Deslongchamps) Bernard.
Bernie graduated from St. Anne's High School in Lawrence, Mass., with the Class of 1945. She later graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Lowell, Mass., in 1950. She worked for 25 years as a registered nurse for Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Mass., in the medical and surgery wards. Bernie was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Pelham where she was active in the church choir and instrumental in founding the bereavement mercy meals.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert E. Thibault II and his wife, Laurie of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mark T. Thibault and his wife, Marygayle of Pelham; her daughter, Anne M. Fraize and her husband, Alan of Deerfield, N.H.; by three grandchildren, Gail, Zachary and Abigail; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Thibault in 1993; by her daughter, Judy Leinweber; and by her brothers and sisters.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 12 Main St., Pelham. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow Thursday at 12 p.m. in St. Patrick's Church. Interment will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem.
