Carl Andre's Story
Carl Andre Mann, 81, of Stewartsville, N.J., passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Carl was born in Lawrence, Mass., on January 7, 1936, to the late Walter and Stella Hamel Mann.
Carl worked in sales in the luggage industry with Presto Locks, having traveled extensively in the Far East. He enjoyed his summer home on Long Beach Island, N.J., gardening, cut flowers, and birds. Most importantly, Carl loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Carl had attended the Phillipsburg Alliance Church in Phillipsburg, N.J. He was a member of Rotary International.
Carl is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Mae Frank Mann; his children, Craig Mann, Christopher Mann, Lynda Bos, Jonathan Mann, Timothy Mann, and Jennifer Eaton; a grandson, whom Carl and Dorothy helped raise, Timothy (LT) Zabransky; and 16 other grandchildren, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Abigail, Elizabeth, Christopher David, Jessica, Anneke, Emily, Julia, Clara, Olivia, Justin, Christopher James, Kayla, Joshua, and Grace; a sister, Charlotte McInnis; a brother, Walter “Pete” Mann; and 16 nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by a brother, Richard Mann.
A memorial service for Carl will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church, 495 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481.
