Doctor William R.'s Story
Dr. William R. Irving, Jr., passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017. He was the son of Dr. William R. Irving and Jeannette Bowman Irving of Gloucester.
He was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, Princeton University, and McGill Medical School.
He was the chief of pathologist and nuclear medicine at Lawrence General Hospital.
He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn (Irving) Weiser of Woburn, Mass., Marilyn (Irving) Rasmussen of Rockport, Mass.; and his half-brother and sister, James V. Irving of Alexandria, Va., and Elizabeth (Irving) Mathiot of Raleigh, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
He will be especially missed by his dear friends, William Guay of Haverhill, Mass., Michael Hozapfel of Hilton Head, N.C., Phyllis Baddour of Methuen, Mass., Rick Conti of Salem, N.H., Scott Fairbanks of Tyngsboro, Mass., and the nephew of the love of his life, Joan Constantine.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
