Domenic "Mickey"'s Story
Domenic "Mickey" Yuele died unexpectedly on September 17, 2017, after a brief illness. He was born in Haverhill, Mass., on April 24, 1949, to Joseph A. and Marie B. Yuele. He is survived by his sisters, Marie Wersoski and Patricia Rand, both of Bradford; brother, Joseph A. and wife, Patty Yuele of California; nephew, Stephen J. Wersoski and wife, Chiara and family of Bradford; niece, Christine Mazzaglia and husband, Mark and family of Haverhill; nephew, Joseph Rand of Bradford; and dear friends, Brian and Kristen Hargraves of Albany, N.H.
Mickey graduated Haverhill High School, Class of 1968. A person of many talents and interests, he was known for his courage and ability to handle himself in a fix. A self-taught equestrain with an innate sense to calm with his touch, the most difficult horse, a real life "Horse Whisperer." He lived for a while in California where he worked as a ranch hand on the Newman Ranch in Chatsworth, Calif., honing his skills as a horseman. Moving back to New England, his deep love and compassion for all things living landed him a position on a wild animal rescue farm where he worked with the rehabilitation of large North American wild cats. As a musician he played trumpet, flugelhorn and guitar. He was an avid reader and history buff who became somewhat of an expert on the North American Indian Wars and Native American studies. He could hold court for hours discussing the facts and folklore of the American West. Mickey was also quite a poet, being published regularly in "The Conway Daily Sun" of North Conway, N.H. As his younger brother, he was my hero and constant source of inspiration and will continue to be. He meant so much to so many. Our hearts are broken, we will miss him always. Rest in peace Domenic, and thank you for always being there!
There will be no public service. Memorial donations can be made in his name to Conway Conservation Commission, 1634 E. Main Street, Conway, NH 03818 or New England Organ Bank, 60 First Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451.
