Erica (Moser) Kahan, 76, entered eternal rest at home on May 18, 2017. Born in London, England, she came to Boston in 1961 on a vacation and remained. She was a resident of Andover for 50 years.
Mrs. Kahan was a clinical social worker, having earned BS in Social Work at Salem State College and her MSW degree from the University of Connecticut. She was employed for more than 20 years with Arbour Counseling of Lawrence and Haverhill.
Mrs. Kahan was also instrumental in the passing of Massachusetts Special Education Law 766, which guarantees the right of all special needs students to an education. She is survived by her husband, S. David Kahan, whom she married in 1963; her children, Jeremy and his wife, Andrea Kahan, Elisa Kahan and Pamela Kahan; her grandchildren, Aaron and Jayden Kahan; and her brother, Paul Moser.
Services will be held at Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover on Monday, May 22 at 11 a.m. Interment in Sharon.
