Ernest J.'s Story
Mr. Verrette passed away at the Meadows at Edgewood in North Andover.
Ernie was born in Methuen and lived his entire life in his beloved hometown of Andover.
Loving husband of Joan (Hardy) Verrette, they celebrated their 66th year anniversary together in late June.
Ernie graduated from Central Catholic High School. He proudly and honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He started his career in the restaurant business at a young age working for his father at Verrette's Restaurant in downtown Andover. He later became a food services director at American Airlines, Gillette, and the Brooks School.
Son of Ernest and Ernestine Verrette, he was predeceased by three sisters, Gloria, Jacqueline, and Germaine. Loving father of Robert, Keith and his wife, Lisa and Glenn and his wife, Laurie, all of Andover. Proud grandfather of Carly, Maxwell, Zackery, Tyler and Maggie Verrette.
Calling hours were at the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main St., Andover on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. His funeral service was at St. Joseph Church, 20 Highvale Lane, Andover, on Wednesday, July 26, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover.
