Ernestine L.'s Story
Ernestine L. (Pike) Proulx, 96, of Haverhill, passed away Friday, May 26, 2017, at Maplewood Center in Amesbury.
She was born in Salisbury on June 21, 1920, daughter of the late James and Esther (Fowler) Pike. Ernestine was educated in the Salisbury schools and at an early age worked at the former Colonial Shoe in Haverhill.
She was the beloved wife of the late Armand W. Proulx, who passed away in 2007 and mother of the late Armand “Billy” W. Proulx, Jr., who passed away in 1963. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary E. and her husband, Thomas W. Lucas of Saco, Maine; brothers, Bearle Pike and Robert Pike, both of Seabrook, N.H.; sister, Anna Cassidy of South Hampton, N.H.; grandchildren, Debbie Burke of Haverhill and Steven Daniels of Concord, N.H.; great-granddaughter, Dawn Taylor; great-great-granddaughter, Chantal Taylor; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the calling hours on Tuesday, May 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
