Gerald E.'s Story
Gerald E. Welch, 74, of North Carolina and formerly a longtime resident of Haverhill, passed away suddenly at his home in North Carolina.
He was born in Haverhill on Feb 17, 1943 the son of the late Lester G. and Florence M. (Hutchins) Welch.
Gerald was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Haverhill High School. After graduation Gerald enlisted in the Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Mr. Welch was employed at Union Machine in Groveland from where he retired.
Mr. Welch was predeceased by three siblings, Lester G. Welch, Francis A. “Skip” Welch, and Shirley A. McLean
He is survived by the love of his life, Patricia (Townsend) Welch, a son, Jeffrey Welch and his significant other, Danielle Strawbridge of Nashua, N.H.; two sisters, Marilyn L. “Witchy” Welch Corradino of Haverhill and Janice Welch Regan of Westbrook, Maine; two grandchildren, Jeffrey D. Welch and Tiffany L. Welch, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation on Saturday, July 29 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:15 p.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.
