Gerard "Gerry" F.'s Story
Mr. Gerard “Gerry” F. Hamel, 68, of Methuen, passed away on June 29, 2017, in Lahey Clinic Hospital.
He was the son of the late Phillip and Jeannette (Beaulieu) Hamel. Born in Methuen, Mr. Hamel had been an area resident all his life.
He was a retired employee of the railroad where he worked for 30 years. He also was the owner of a hardwood floor installation company. Mr. Hamel was a member of the National Rifle Association and the American Pool Association. He was a member of the Methuen Pool League, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and archery. Mr. Hamel was a hard worker who was strong and loyal, above all else he loved his family.
Mr. Hamel was predeceased by his sister, Claire (Hamel) Waterworth. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Janet (Rennie) Hamel; one daughter, Kerri and her husband, Mike Wright of Salem, N.H.; three sons, Marc Hamel and his wife, Allyson of Methuen, Lance Hamel and his wife, Nancy of Windham, N.H., and Brett Hamel of Methuen; two sisters, Gloria Hamel Miner and Suzanne Hamel; two brothers, Richard Hamel and Leo Hamel. There are 10 grandchildren and 18 nieces and nephews. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers please hug someone that you love.
