J. Nicholas's Story
J. Nicholas Lacharite, 72, of Salem, N.H., died Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the High Pointe House in Haverhill.
Nick was born in Lawrence, the son of the late Roland Lacharite and Barbara (Bruorton) Lacharite Brian. He grew up in Salem, N.H., and was the last graduating class of Woodbury High School.
Nick served in the U.S. Navy and he did two tours of duty in Vietnam and one in Antarctica. He was a member of the Seabees and he belonged to the Mobile Construction Battalion One and he helped to build the Murdoch Research Center in Antarctica. Nick received two bronze stars. He owned Signs & More in Salem, and he had worked as a food broker for Edward Shaughnessy. He coached little league in Salem and Pelham. Nick was an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing, and traveling.
Nick will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Alice (Hill) Lacharite of Salem; his children, Kerri Lacharite and her significant, Stephen Warley, and Amy Lacharite and her significant, Eric Comeau; his sister-in-law, Ann Marie Lacharite of Pelham, N.H.; his two nieces, Erin Lacharite and Danielle Lacharite Brown. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Lacharite and his nephew, Michael Lacharite (Little Mike).
Visitation will be Thursday, August 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 11, at 11 a.m. at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
