Jacquelyn M. (Breen)'s Story
Jacquelyn M. “Jackee” (Breen) Sonia, 80, of Pelham, N.H., died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, at Lowell General Hospital, Lowell, Mass.
Jackee was born in Santa Monica, Calif. She grew up and was educated in Medford, Mass. She was a resident of Pelham for the past 40 years, formerly of Salem, N.H., where she raised her family.
Jackee was a retired bookkeeper, working for various companies including Pepsi Cola and Majalite Corp. in Dracut, Mass. She was a member of the Red Hatters Club, The Pelham Senior Center, and Curves. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, painting, and watching golf. Jackee hosted many family celebrations over the years and loved family gatherings. Jackee loved going to Aruba with her husband and would always say that she was home now. Jackee was a true warrior and battled her illness to the very end. Her family will always love and miss her.
Jackee was the daughter of the late Carl and Florence (Rumson) Breen. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Donna Queen and her sister, Linda Koczera.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Gordon Sonia of Pelham, N.H.; children, Cheryl Queen of Danville, Va., Linda and her husband, Wyatt Seese of Salem, N.H., Deborah and her husband, Richard Clewer of Winthrop, Mass., and John and his wife, Mary Queen of Salisbury, Mass.; stepchildren, Jeffrey Sonia of Florida, Brian and his wife, Kelly Sonia of Londonderry, N.H., and Scott and his wife, Leslie Sonia of Twin Mountain, N.H.; brothers, Bill Breen of Alton Bay, N.H., John Breen of Rochester, N.H., and Ronnie Breen of Arlington, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd., Windham, NH. A celebration of Jackee’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave. #2, Lowell, MA 01854.
