James Edward Abbott, Jr., 70, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at his home with his loving wife, Karen, by his side after a brief illness.

He honorably served his country from 1964 to 1967 in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ranger during the Viet Nam War.
James was a talented machinist and last worked for Countis Laboratories for 10 years before retiring in 2011. He enjoyed golf, stamp collecting, hunting and fishing. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Amberly, Ryan, Christopher J. and Ryann; five great-grandchildren, Kai, Christopher S, Sarrah, Rileigh and Neveah; his sister, Pamela Carr of Haverhill; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Jim’s request, there will be no funeral services. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 11270 Rough & Ready Hwy, Grass Valley, CA 95945.
