Jose Maria's Story
Jose Maria Javier, died Tuesday at Cedar View Center in Methuen, with his family at his bedside.
Mr. Javier was born and educated in Tenares, Dominican Republic, the son of the late Agustin Ramirez and Brijida Javier. While living in the Dominican Republic, Mr. Javier operated a farm. He moved to Lawrence in 1976, and retired from Malden Mills. He was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence. Mr. Javier enjoyed playing dominoes and spending time with his family.
He was the widow of Felicia Taveras who died in 1988, and is survived by his sons, Agustin, Jose Manuel, Jose German, Adolfo, Oscar, Eladio, Jose Dionicio and Jose, Jr.; daughters, Maria F., Nurys, Ana Mercedes, Elizabeth and Brijida. In addition he is survived by 33 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Mr. Javier is also survived by brothers, Bienvenido and Pedro; along with sisters, Juana and Maria; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Farrah Funeral Home, 133 Lawrence St., Lawrence, MA 01841. A funeral Mass will be offered Friday, August 11, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
