Joseph J. Kramer, peacefully left this world, surrounded by his family, on October 6, 2017. He was formerly of Brick, N.J., and Atkinson, N.H.
Born January 16, 1936, in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of Josef and Anna (Schrammel) Kramer.
Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maryann (Ryan) Kramer; his three children, Kathryn, David and wife, Beth, and Stephen and wife, Tricia; his grandchildren, Daniel, Sean, Heather, Joseph, Ryan, Luke and Lena; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and sister-in-law, Agnes Barresi. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Anna.
In school he was a Sea Scout which sparked his passion for fishing. He proudly served in the US Army as a cook while serving in Korea. Joe received his Bachelor’s from Northeastern, his Masters at NH College and was a graduate of RCA Institutes. His working career included RCA, Sperry-Univac and Wang Labs as a national account manager. After retiring he worked as a courier for Lab Corp.
Joe's enjoyment in life was being surrounded by his children, family and friends. Joe was a devout Catholic. He had a quick wit and could tell a good joke. As an active outdoorsman he loved being out on his boat the best. Watching his Patriots play, Monte Python, Seinfeld or the like on television was also a pleasure. As a simple man, he enjoyed life, good seafood, and the beach. For many years he was a Boy Scout Leader both in New Hampshire and New Jersey.
A celebration of Joe's life begins with Visiting hours on Thursday, Oct. 12, from 12 Noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Road, Newmarket, NH, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Church, Main Street, Newmarket, NH.
