Joseph L.F.'s Story
Joseph L.F. Jacques, 82, a resident of Lawrence, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Soldiers Home in Chelsea.
Born in Lawrence, Joseph was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He had worked in Heavy Equipment for Local #4 as well as for Hajj Construction Company. Joseph had also worked on construction projects throughout the state as well as on Boston’s Big Dig Project. A United States Marine and Navy Veteran, Joseph had served in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a member of the Reserves as well as Union Local #4. Joseph was also a member of the Lawrence and Pelham N.H. Road and Gun Clubs. Joseph loved gardening and woodworking. He was considered a skilled craftsman and a jack of all trades.
The son of the late Hormidas and Antoinette (Potvin) Jacques, family members include his wife, Anne Jean Jacques.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. Family and friends may call on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence.
