Kenneth J.'s Story
Kenneth J. LaPrell, 59, of Hampstead, N.H., passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Parkland Hospital in Derry, NH following a long illness.
He was born on September 23, 1957 at the former Clover hill Hospital in Methuen. Ken was the son of Jay A. LaPrell and the late Maureen (Hughes) LaPrell of Salem, N.H.
After graduating Salem High School, Class of 1975 he worked as a certified lifeguard for the summer season and was later employed by the Raytheon Division of Hudson, NH. He advanced to various technical positions in the electronics field, working both as a contract employee and permanent positions at AGFA Prepress Systems of Wilmington. Ken’s last employment was for D.G. O’Brien of Seabrook, N.H. as an electronics technician working on nuclear submarine applications. He was a champion bowler and as a teenager lost the New Hampshire State Championship by a couple of pins. He loved fishing, sports, music and animals. Up to the time of his illness he had the vast ability to remember scores of bands, groups and singers total histories dating back to his early teens.
He will be sadly missed and survived by his father, Jay A. LaPrell of Salem as well as by nieces and nephews.
