Lucinda A. "Cindy"'s Story
Lucinda A. “Cindy” Lonergan 64, of Salem, N.H., lost her fight against cancer on Tuesday, July 4th.
Cindy grew up in Methuen and Everett, Mass. and graduated from Everett High School.
She received her RN degree from Lawrence General School of Nursing and her BSN degree from St. Anselm College. Cindy devoted 45 years of service to Lawrence General Hospital holding many leadership positions, including 14 years as Manager of the ICU. In 2011 she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.
She enjoyed the outdoors, skiing, golfing, softball and jet skiing with her nephews. Cindy loved to walk the beach, swim and travel. She especially liked trips to Las Vegas and enjoyed going to the shows there. She was predeceased by her parents, Bertha (McNamara) and Richard Ward and her brother, Michael Ward. Cindy will be sadly missed by her loving husband, John Lonergan of Salem and her extended family Ted, Corinne and Kimberly Hunt and her Godsons, Isaac and Samuel. Cindy will be missed by her many wonderful friends who have given such loving support to her as she battled her illness.
Visitation will be Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, N.H. Burial is Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell St. Methuen.
