Lucy (Marino)'s Story
Lucy (Marino) Novello, 93, of Methuen, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Methuen Village Assisted Living. Born in Haverhill, Mass., she was the daughter of Raphael and Rosaria (Pappalardo) Marino.
Lucy was raised and educated in Lawrence. She worked at Western Electric and Lucent for over 30 years.
Lucy was a frequent visitor at the Methuen Senior Center. She was an accomplished artist who loved oil painting and ceramics, and her paintings were exhibited at the Statehouse in Boston, Mass. Lucy’s cherished paintings have found homes with near and distant family members. She enjoyed cooking large Sunday Italian dinners and taking care of her many pets over the years. Lucy was a person who was truly and deeply devoted to her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Domenic Novello and her siblings, Michael Marino, Ned Marino and Ann Zappala.
Lucy is survived by her children, Michael Novello and his wife, Marilyn of Salem, N.H., Ann Markovich and her husband, Thomas of Danville, N.H., and Joyce Maag and her husband, Paul of East Hampstead, N.H.; her grandchildren, Karen Sarazin and her husband, William of Methuen, Brianna Wynn and her husband, Matt of Chesterfield, Va., and Brittany Maag of East Hampstead, N.H. She also leaves a great-grandchild, Kaylee Sarazin and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Methuen Village, Compassionate Care Hospice and Cedar View Rehabilitation for the loving gentle care that they provided.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Wednesday, May 3, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
