Mona S.'s Story
Mona S. (Rancourt) Shank, 86, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, Mass., passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017, at the Cedar View Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Methuen.
Born and educated in Lawrence, Mona was a graduate of St. Rita’s Grammar School and St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence. Prior to her retirement, she had worked for many years as a home health aide. During the Big Band Era, she worked as a hostess at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, N.H.
The daughter of the late Leo J. and Mary (O’Gorman) Rancourt and the widow of the late Donald A. Shank, members of Mona’s family include her son, Robert Bonanno of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mona was predeceased by her daughter, Brenda Ann Della Cioppa, as well as three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, also in Lawrence.
