Paul C.'s Story
Paul C. Waites, 80, of Salem, N.H., died Monday at his home. He was born and educated in Lawrence, Mass., the son of the late Edna (Abbott) and William Waites.
Paul owned and operated Barker Oil Company for many years. He served in the Army National Guard. He and his wife, Helen catered and cooked for all of the church functions at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Methuen, Mass., as well as the functions at Methuen Senior Center. Paul was very kind hearted and would help anyone who needed it. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Scott) Waites.
He will be missed by his four sons, Paul Waites and wife, Marie of Derry, N.H., Ronnie Waites and wife, Linda of Derry, N.H., William Waites of Derry, N.H., and Derek Waites of Salem, N.H.; his daughter, Bev and husband, Paul Johannes of Salem, N.H.; his brothers, William Waites of Salem, N.H., David Waites of Salem, N.H., and Loren Ebert of Lowell, Mass.; his sister, Ruby LaVallee of Nashua, N.H.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The funeral services will be held Friday, May 5 at 12:30 p.m. at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Paul's name may be made to the Methuen Senior Center, 77 Lowell St., Methuen, MA 01844 or to St. Andrews Church, 90 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
