Pauline Burns, 90, of Lawrence, formerly of North Andover, passed peacefully on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Mary Immaculate Nursing Center.
Pauline was born on February 25, 1927 in Manchester, N.H. to the late Armand E. and Yvonne (LaBonte) Provost.
Pauline was an active member of St. Michael's Church, having led bible study and taught CCD at the parish. She was a homemaker who enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She was also an avid reader.
The widow of the late John R. Burns, Pauline is survived by her daughters, Sister Eileen Burns S.N.D. of Lawrence, Carolyn R. Sprague and her husband, James of Methuen, and Linda Banville of North Andover, sons, John M. Burns of Haverhill, Robert T. Burns and his significant other, Kelly Emmett of Plaistow, N.H. Pauline was predeceased by her son Thomas Burns. Pauline is also survived by her brothers, Edward Provost of Woodstock, Va. and James Provost of Tampa, Fla. as well as her seven grandchildren, Andrew Sprague and his wife, Janine, Jonathan, and Brendan Sprague, Kelsey Banville, and Olivia, Lillian, and Emelyn Burns. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Pauline was predeceased by her sister, Bea Tanguay and her brother Armand Provost.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center for their incredible care and kindness to Pauline.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Church. Burial will take place at a later date.
