Richard "Dick"'s Story
Richard J. “Dick” Tellier, 71, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and loved ones on May 4, 2017, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House.
Born on November 30, 1945, he was the son of Helen (Nichols) (Tellier) (Chagnon) Willett and the late Norman Tellier, Sr.
He attended Haverhill Public Schools, including Haverhill High School and was employed for 32 years as a shipping clerk at Vernon Plastics.
He was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish. His idea of “Paradise” and his greatest enjoyment was spending time camping with his wife, family and friends. Among the many activities at camp, he most enjoyed sitting outside of his camper with his dogs at his feet. Dick had an extraordinary love for his pets and a vivacious and quick sense of humor. He loved long car rides to the mountains with his wife, cooking, watching movies and spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Sharon (Belanger) Tellier; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and David Lobley of Amesbury, sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Tellier of Haverhill, Jeffrey and Tanya Tellier of Derry, N.H., and Brian and Kristen Tellier of Hampstead, N.H.; his mother, Helen Willett of Haverhill; brothers, Norman Tellier of Newburyport, Robert Tellier of Atkinson, Thomas Tellier of Lawrence, U.S.Army Colonel (Ret.) Wilfred “Bill” Chagnon of Virginia; sisters, Judy Rolando of Virginia and Pam Langlois of Newton, N.H.; grandchildren, Heather, Jessica, Hannah, Amanda, Lylah, Jack and Morgan; and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Merrimack Valley Hospice House for their loving and professional care and to the staff of the Lahey Hospital of Burlington for all of their help during Dick’s long illnesses.
