Robert C.'s Story
Robert C. Kampersal, 73, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2017, following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of the late Kathleen A. (Lovering) Kampersal, to whom he was married for 33 years, and was the oldest son of the late Edgar J. and Lucille (Choate) Kampersal.
A lifelong native of Beverly, he is survived by a daughter, Jill C. Fabri and her husband, Scott of Beverly; a son, Richard D. Kampersal and his wife, Sharon of Lynnfield; his beloved granddaughters, Dana Kampersal, Catherine Kampersal, and Olivia Fabri; a sister, Janet Kendrick of Exeter, N.H.; brothers, David Kampersal of Beverly, John Kampersal of New Bedford, and Peter Kampersal of Beverly; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his loving partner, Ann Knowlton of Beverly, her family, and their many friends.
Mr. Kampersal enjoyed his retirement after teaching at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School in Haverhill for more than three decades. He coached Beverly Little League for many years, and took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren succeed in sports and other activities. An avid golfer, he enjoyed reading, gardening, and escaping the cold New England winters to enjoy time in Florida with friends and family. He was a longtime, loyal member of the Beverly-Salem Elks Lodge.
Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, on Wednesday, July 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A private burial service and reception will take place at a later date.
