Sandra (McCarty)'s Story

Sandra McCarty Minion, of Haverhill, passed away surrounded by family on June 1, 2017, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House after a brave battle with cancer.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Donald J Minion; her children, Thomas Minion, Anna Minion-Roy and her husband, Brian Roy, Donald Minion and his wife, Nicole Minion, and Mary Minion; her grandsons, Marcus Panneton, Carmelo Gomez, Gavin Minion, Brody Roy; granddaughters, Maria and Anna Marie Gomez, Lilly Minion and Genesis Andrickson. Her family members also include her sisters and their husbands, Ann and Bob Dion, Dianne and John Siudut, Jackie and Ed Morgan and Nancy, and Dick Powers; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sandra rejoins her oldest children, Kelly and Stephen Long; her parents, Anna and James McCarty; her brothers, James, Thomas, Michael, and William McCarty. In addition, she is survived by her dedicated friend and co-worker, Carol Carella who was always there for her along with her many other friends.
Sandra worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years in the emergency room where she brightened many lives with a healing hand and a warm heart. She retired as a nurse manager at the Merrimack Valley Hospital where her passion for helping others inside and outside of her job manifested.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, and colleague to all. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be remembered for both her bravery and her kindness! She will truly be missed but never forgotten.
Memorial visitation will be conducted at Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover, on Wednesday, June 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael Church in North Andover on June 8 at 10 a.m. followed by a ceremony at Ridgewood Cemetery.
