Sr. Claire's Story
Sr. Claire Guerin, age 79, of Methuen, passed away on April 23, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital of Brighton. Sr. Claire was born in Chicopee on December 2, 1937 to the late Homer A. and Emma E. (Demers) Guerin. She attended St. Joan of Arc Grammar School in Chicopee. Sr. Claire was a graduate of Chicopee High School, Rivier College, and St. Michael’s College. She worked for 21 years at Marie Joseph Spiritual Center of Biddeford, ME. Sr. Claire also taught at the Presentation of Mary Academy of Methuen for many years and at Mt. Carmel Grammar School of Chicopee.
Sr. Claire is survived by her maternal cousins, Christine (Demers) Colaccino of Belchertown, and Richard Demers of Worcester, and their children and grandchildren. Sr. Claire is also survived by her paternal cousins, Joan (Guerin) Lourie of Shrewbury, MA, Carol (Guerin) Monat of Niantic, Conn., Emile Guerin, Jr., Joyce Cote (Her Goddaughter) of S. Hadley, Robert Guerin of Grafton, Mass., Diana (Guerin) Chase of W, Springfield, Mass., Thomas Kelly of Orient, Maine, Clifford (Kip) Bellavance and Anne Haveles of Voluntown, Conn., and their children and grandchildren.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the St. Claire Residence of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 206 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of the Presentation of Mary, 206 Lawrence St., Methuen. Interment to follow at a later date.
