Thaddeus "Ted"'s Story
Thaddeus J. “Ted” Pelczar, 69, of Lawrence, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Brighton.
Ted was born in Methuen and was the son of Frank and Jane (Peterof) Pelczar.
Ted was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served proudly during the Vietnam War.
Upon his return from service, Ted went to work drilling wells and later worked for Hampshire Fabrics as a machine operator. He earned his way up to a supervisor before he retired after more than 20 years of service. Ted’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and later his grandchildren who brought him great joy to be with. Ted also enjoyed bowling, darts, and dancing with his beloved wife, Mary.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife of over 30 years, Mary (Cook) Pelczar of Lawrence; his loving daughters, Laura L. Cozzone and Christine M. Cozzone, both of Methuen, and Mary E. Kight and her husband, James of Salem, N.H.; his eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ted also leaves his brothers, Frank Pelczar and his wife, Carol of Pennsylvania, and Walter Pelczar and his wife, Marion of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to memorial visiting hours on Friday, June 30, 2017, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral services will commence at the conclusion of the visiting hours at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
