North Andover - With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Anne A. Ewer, 86, of Andover, Massachusetts, on May 6, 2026, after a long struggle with dementia.

Anne was born on October 16, 1939, in Galashiels, Scotland. After marrying the love of her life, Martin, the two began their adventure together by emigrating to Winnipeg, Canada, where they welcomed their first two children, Rhett and Nicole. They later returned to Scotland, where their daughter Catriona was born, before spending time in England and ultimately settling in Andover, Massachusetts in 1980.

Anne built a beautiful life centered around family, kindness, and connection. She worked for many years at the Andover Memorial Hall Library, where her love of books was matched only by her love of people. She cherished conversations with patrons and greeted everyone with the same warmth, friendliness, and genuine smile that made others instantly feel at ease.

Anne found joy in life's simple pleasures; listening to music and dancing, daily walks, tending to her garden, feeding the birds, and gathering with family and friends. She had a quiet strength and gentle spirit that made people feel cared for, welcomed, and loved. To her family, she was the heart of everything: a steady presence, a source of comfort, and the matriarch who held generations together with unconditional love.

She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of nearly 64 years, Martin Ewer. She is survived by her children, Rhett Ewer; Nicole Wilson and her husband Andrew; and Catriona Bean and her husband Jeff. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Alexis Setchell and her husband Matt, Ian Wilson and his wife Leah Lubert, Rachael Steinhauser and her husband Chadd, Derek Wilson, and Jared Gagnon and his fiancé Leah McMahon; and her great-grandchildren, Nova, Atlas, and Hudson Setchell, Clara Wilson, and Camilla Steinhauser. She is also survived by her sister, Norma Brown, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her passing leaves an immeasurable space in the hearts of those who loved her, but her kindness, warmth, and love will remain with them always.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Anne's honor to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, so that her legacy of kindness and compassion may continue to help others.
