Methuen - Anthony A. "Tony" Bellia, 93, of Methuen, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Aspen Hill Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center. He was the beloved son of the late Francesco and Alfia (Raiciti) Bellia.

Tony was born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Holy Rosary Grammar School and Central Catholic High School class of 1950. He received an associate's degree in chemistry from Lowell Technical College. He was employed as a Quality Engineer in the chemistry labs at Avco Space Systems and Textron Specialty Materials in Lowell, MA. He dedicated 51 years of employment in the manufacturing of Boron and Silicon Carbide Fibers until his retirement in 2012. During his career Tony participated in international travel to Tel Aviv, Israel and Saudi Arabia. Known for his strong work ethic, his coworkers consulted him often for his knowledge and support even after his retirement.

Tony was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Shrine in Lawrence. He was a member of the Central Catholic Alumni Association and enjoyed playing Bocce, coin collecting, watching the Kentucky Derby, Boston Bruins and was an avid New York Giants Football Team fan. He attended many athletic events for his grandchildren.

Tony also enjoyed dining out with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by his loving daughter, Linda Ann Bellia-Hartley.

Tony is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Lena (Bruzzese) Bellia. his beloved daughter, Ann Marie Mezquita and her husband Scott of Atkinson, NH. He is also survived by his sister, Carmelina Piazza of Methuen, MA.

He was a proud and loving "Nonno" to three adored grandchildren, David Anthony Mezquita and his wife Meghan of Dover, NH, Andrea Marie and Jessica Ann Mezquita both of Atkinson, NH. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandson, Maxwell D. Mezquita, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

The Bellia family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Aspen Hill Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Haverhill, MA (A wing) for their compassionate care and comfort they provided Tony, specifically nurses, Steve and Elizabeth.

Tony will be remembered for his dedication to his family. His legacy of love, tenacity and generosity will live on through all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Shrine, 28 Union St. Lawrence. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
