Methuen - Carol Joan Carsanaro, 86, of Methuen, MA, passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 14, 2026. Carol was a woman whose gentle spirit and unwavering kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Born and raised in the Merrimack Valley, Carol built a life defined by love, loyalty, and simple joys. She especially cherished her time playing bocce at the Sons of Italy, where she formed lasting friendships and shared countless laughs. For many years, she also enjoyed bowling, a pastime that brought her both joy and camaraderie. Some of Carol's most precious memories were created while enjoying her weekly card night every Saturday evening. Her card group was comprised of dear family and friends, and together they shared their lives through love and laughter.

Carol is survived by her devoted sister, Sandra Pappalardo of New Hampshire; she was pre-deceased by her husband Concetto J. Carsanaro and her parents Joseph & Rachel Cataldo.

Carol had a special place in her heart for her Godchildren, nephews, nieces & their children. She cherished all the times that she spent with them making memories. Carol will forever be remembered as someone with a beautiful and kind heart. People often said she was "100 percent pure love,". Carol's warmth, her lack of bias, and her boundless compassion were her natural qualities that others profoundly admired.

Carol's presence was a gift; steady, loving, and sincere. Her memory will continue to live in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her gentle nature.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 20th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street Methuen, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21st, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Lucy's Church, 254 Merrimack Street Methuen, MA.
