Methuen, MA - Carole A. (Getchell) Thompson, 55 of Methuen, MA, died peacefully on Monday at High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, MA, surrounded by her family.
Carole was born in Methuen, MA, to the late Albert and Carol (Quigley) Getchell. She grew up, was educated, and was a lifelong resident of Methuen, MA. She was a member of St. Monica's Parish in Methuen and was a US Navy veteran. She enjoyed cooking, camping, and the beach. Shel loved to smile and laugh and was always in a great mood. Most of all, Carole loved being with her family and friends, especially her sons, who were her pride and joy.
Carole was predeceased by her husband Thomas Thompson and her brother Gregory Getchell.
She is survived by her sons: Dalton and Dustin Thompson of Methuen, MA, Siblings: Scott and his wife Gloria Getchell of Loudon, NH, Steve Getchell of Salem, NH, Jeff and his wife Phyllis Getchell of Methuen, MA, Albert and his wife Francesca Getchell of Salem, NH, Mary-Jo and her husband Bill Brandy of Salem, NH, Tim and his wife Emily Getchell of Methuen, MA, Sandee and her husband Bill Kopp of Methuen, MA, Lenny and his wife Dawn Getchell of Methuen, MA, Donna and her husband Matt Tulley of Hampstead, NH, and Dan and his wife Jennifer Getchell of Hampstead, NH, Many Nieces, Nephews, and Great Nieces and Nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Merrimack Valley VNA and the High Pointe Hospice House for their love and care they gave to Carole.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 9th at 9 AM at St. Monica's Parish, Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
Calling hours will be held Friday, Nov. 8th from 5-8 PM at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH.

I was so sad to hear Carole passed. It's been years since we spoke but I have such great memories of our friendship....picture her in my mind always laughing. She was such a kind person. My deepest sympathies to her family/friends.

I worked with Carole in different capacities off and on over the past few years. She always had a smile and a hello for everyone she came across. We would always chat in the mornings over my daily coffee at the school. She has been and will be missed by so many. Prayers with all of her family in this time of pain. God bless.
