Methuen - David J. DiFrancesco, 63, of Methuen, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 6, 2019. He was born in Methuen, MA and was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Conti) DiFrancesco.
Raised in Methuen, David was a graduate of Tenney Memorial High School in Methuen, class of 1974. He worked at Columbia Gas in Lawrence as a supervisor for forty-four years. David's hobbies included taking care of his yard, fishing, smoking cigars, going to the beach, cooking up delicious meals for his family, and being surrounded by his loved ones, most especially his two sons, David and Christopher.
Family is the one word that truly encompasses David. He was a loving and devoted husband. He and his wife, Maureen, were true soulmates and best friends. David was also a wonderful father. Leading by example, he taught his sons about love, kindness, and respect by never speaking an unkind word about others.
David will be remembered as one of the good guys - a humble man, a family man, a kind and brave man, never forgetful of his roots. He enjoyed living a simple life, but anyone who sat in his presence would tell you that there was always a life lesson to be learned. It is through those lessons and tremendous love that David's memory will live on in those who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Maureen A. (Regan) DiFrancesco.
David is survived by his loving sons, David and Christopher DiFrancesco, both of Salem, NH; and his brother, Joseph DiFrancesco of Portland, ME. He also leaves behind two nephews and a niece, Michael, Kimberly and Mark Piccirillo.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Eternal Light Memorial, 21 Pond Street in Salem, NH. I worked with Dave at Bay State Gas 34 years ago when I was hired as summer help during college break. He immediately took me under his wing and was like a big brother to me for 2 summers. He had a profound impact on me and I thought the world of him. Long after we worked together, I would see him at the beach and he always made me feel like I was the most important person in the world. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing.

Dave was a great man and a fierce friend. I can remember him coming to my defence during hockey games. One of the kindest gentlemen I ever knew.
