Haverhill - Evelyn B. Grasso, RN, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024 at the Hannah Duston Nursing Home.

Born on February 28, 1937, in Haverhill, MA, she was the daughter of Anthony Grasso and Viola (Pollano) Grasso.

Evelyn grew up in Haverhill, where she developed an early affinity for helping others. Following her graduation from high school in 1955, she attended Lowell General Hospital School of Nursing and proudly became a Registered Nurse in 1957. Her nursing career spanned nearly five decades including Hale Hospital, Haverhill VNA, and several area nursing homes where she held roles as Nursing Supervisor and Director of Nursing. She retired from Hannah Duston Nursing Home in 2003 leaving behind a legacy of care and dedication. Evelyn married and raised three daughters while continuing to work.

Evelyn was lovingly known as "Bimmie" by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a strong and independent woman who enjoyed the beach, celebrating holidays and the changing seasons, and treasured spending time with her family.

Evelyn is survived by her brother, Gilbert Grasso, daughters, Laura Beal, Darlene Beal, and Sharon Grasso; grandchildren, Marcelina Beal-Burrowes; Lauren Abreu and her husband Marco; great-grandchildren, Chris, Sean, Xavier, Neondre, Lennon and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Ralph Grasso; a sister, Janice Bilodeau; and her ex-husband, Kenneth Beal. Evelyn's love and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
