Methuen, MA - Joseph J Maroon passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 20th at the Lawrence General Hospital with his wife Lisa and daughter Krista by his side.

Born on June 10, 1965 in Lowell, Mass. Joe was the son of the late Ronald Maroon and Noha (ElKareh) Maroon who passed away only a day before her son.

A 1984 graduate of Methuen High School, Joseph was a Lineman for Verizon, IBEW Local 2321 for the past 34 years. He was well known for his excellent work ethic and dedication to his job and made many lasting friendships over the years.

Joe was loved by a wide circle of family and friends and was known to everyone as a cheerful, kind-hearted guy who was always smiling. This past Christmas he took on the role of Santa for his wife's preschool class at St. Monica's School in Methuen. He enjoyed this as much as they did as he had a kindness and love for all children.

He was an avid Patriots fan and attended many games over the years with his brother Michael. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, working around the yard, cooking on the grill and tending to his vegetable garden with his Mom.

His greatest joy in his life was his family, his best friend and loving wife of 17 years, Lisa, and their daughter Krista, who was the absolute light of his life and his greatest blessing.

In addition to his wife and daughter, Joseph is also survived by his son through marriage, Marc DiFruscia of Hampstead N.H. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Michael and his wife Debbie Maroon of Berlin, Conn., sister Teresa and her husband, George Bowles of Lowell and Peter Maroon of Parrish, Fla. He also leaves behind his loving nieces, Michelle, and fiancé Jerry, Christine, Nicole, Courtney & Brittney, nephew Nicholas and beloved cousin James Maroon and Uncle Richard Maroon and families, sister and brother-in-law Maria and John Chester as well as so many aunts, uncles, cousins, godchildren and friends. In addition to his parents, Noha and Ronald Maroon, Joseph was predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law in law Peter and Joan Gallo.

All services are being held privately. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
