Lawrence - Lawrence - Katherine E. "Katie" Kawash, 63, surrounded by loved ones, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 27, 2025. She was the wife of the late Edward D. Kawash.

Born in Lawrence on April 2, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. Marcello and Lillian K. (Mitchell) Marcello.

Katie grew up and was educated in Methuen, and graduated from Methuen High School, Class of 1980. After working at a few area businesses, Katie started at The Andover Companies and enjoyed a career spanning 37 years as an insurance clerk, retiring in 2024. In her earlier years, Katie and her late husband traveled to a number of memorable destinations. Katie was very skilled in needlepoint, knitting, bracelet and necklace crafting. She was very fond of her pet cockatiels.

Katie is survived by her brother, Joseph R. Marcello and his wife, Lynelle, of Methuen; sister, Kathleen "Kathy" Chichester, and her husband, Edward, of Methuen. She is also survived by her three nephews, Anthony, and his wife Hollee: James, and Joseph and his significant other, Joyce Martinez. Also, she will be missed by her grandnephew, Ronny Marcello.

Calling hours will be held at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10th at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 217 Main St., Haverhill, MA.
