Lawrence - Kathleen Gianopoulos, 80, of Lawrence, died Monday Morning, July 6,2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Kathy was born in Lawrence on September 4, 1945, to the late Charles and Julia (Noonan) Gianopoulos.

Kathy graduated Lawrence High School in 1963 and earned an Associate's Degree from Andover Business School. Prior to her retirement, Kathy worked as a Programmer Analyst in the corporate division of Raytheon in Lexington. She was the co-owner of Family Pools in Lawrence, where she spent over 30 years working in the office, where she supported customers, clients and staff members.

Kathy was an excellent athlete. She played golf and tennis, but her true passion was downhill skiing, which she enjoyed for over 50 years. She skied in Utah, Colorado, Italy and throughout the White Mountain regions.

During her retirement, she spent endless hours volunteering at Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence. Kathy was a Eucharistic Minister at St Patrick's Church in Lawrence and she was an active participant in social, spiritual and educational events. Her faith was the central focus of her life.

Family and friends brought her much joy and happiness throughout her life. During Kathy's illness, she was cared for by her friend of over 50 years, Lucia DePamphilis.

Kathy is survived by her brother, William Gianopoulos and his wife Cynthia of Lawrence and her two sisters, Sharleen Bistany and her husband Charles, and Diane Berry and her husband Richard, also of Lawrence. Also among her survivors are her long time friend, Lucia DePamphilis of Lawrence, as well as several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Kathleen was predeceased by her niece and nephew, Nicole Bistany and Christian Bistany.

We'd like to thank and remember the nieces Jennifer Berry and Charly Gianopoulos for their special love and care of their aunt, Kathy. In addition, a special thank you to Visiting Angels, Tufts Medical Hospice Care, Luann Roberge, Shurlann Proulx and Ivone Hughson for their care and support of our Kathy.

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, July 15,2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church 118 South Broadway, Lawrence. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in North Andover.

Family and friends may call Tuesday July 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home 17 Third Street, North Andover.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cor Unum of St. Patrick's Church 118 South Broadway, Lawrence Massachusetts 01843.
