Haverhill - Kenneth James "Kenny" Chambers, 79, died Sunday, November 10, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Norma L. (Spurling) Chambers, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
Born on February 13, 1940, he was a son of the late Clarence J. and Dorothy H. Chambers. Kenny was a lifelong resident of Haverhill. For over 59 years, he worked as the Assistant Superintendent at Linwood Cemetery, a job he took great pride in. Kenny also set monument foundations for Atwood Memorial Co. in Ward Hill.
In his spare time, Kenny enjoyed visiting Maine and New Hampshire where he often went boat watching and visited Hart's Turkey Farm with his wife. On weekends he loved watching his grandson Cameron's Football and Lacrosse games, as well as his granddaughter Saige's Gymnastic Competitions. On many nights you could find Kenny at Heav'nly Donuts in Bradford where he enjoyed a good cup of coffee and spending time with friends.
Above all, Kenny will always be remembered for his extraordinary work ethic and devotion to his family. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
In addition to his wife, Norma, of Haverhill, Kenny is survived and will be deeply missed by his son, Sgt. Richard J. Chambers; two grandchildren, Cameron and Saige Chambers; and their mother, Amy Chambers, all of Hampstead, NH; a sister, Pauline D. Collins and her husband Leonard of Florida; three sisters-in-law, Irene Chambers of Bradford, Linda Chambers of Maine, and Arline Roberts and her husband John of Haverhill; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Kenny was predeceased by his brothers, Clarence, Galen, and George Chambers; and his sisters, Eleanor Garland, Harriet Selby, and Margaret Jaffarian.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Friday morning, November 15, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at Linwood Cemetery Chapel, 41 John Ward Ave., Haverhill, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel.
