Merrimac - Kenneth A. Merrill passed away on July 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 79 years old.

Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, on April 7, 1947, to the late Vernon and Lorraine Merrill, Ken was a longtime resident of Merrimac, Massachusetts. A graduate of Pentucket Regional High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Boston, carrying that same sense of dedication and loyalty throughout his life.

Ken was truly a jack of all trades but his passion was his music. Playing electric and bass guitar in bands including The Great Rubber Band and The Time Travelers, he brought joy to countless people through every performance. In later years, as DJ "The Madd Hatter," he had a remarkable way of filling a room with laughter, music, and unforgettable memories.

He treasured time spent with family, whether gathered around the table for game night or cheering on the Patriots and the Red Sox alongside his brothers. He had a heart as big as his smile and was always willing to lend a hand or brighten someone's day with his quick wit and infectious sense of humor.

Ken leaves behind his partner of 25 years, Sheri Breen and her daughter Sarah Santagate who affectionately called him her "step up" Dad and their loving family; his daughters, Pamela Glaeser and her husband, Scott; Kelly Perrett and her husband, Barry; and Lindsay Merrill. He was a proud grandfather to one granddaughter, three grandsons, and one great-grandson.

He is also survived by his siblings: Vernon Merrill; Dennis Merrill and his wife, Maryjo; Mark Merrill; David Merrill; Donald Merrill and his wife, Donna; and Ellen Normandie and her husband, Mark; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Lorraine Merrill, and his brother, Michael Merrill.

Though Ken's absence leaves an immeasurable void, the melodies he played, the laughter he inspired, and the love he shared will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew him.

At Ken's request there will be no services held. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 1, 2026, from 12-5 at 33 Battis Rd. Merrimac, Mass.
