Lawrence - Laurie Michelle (Baxley) Amaral, 63, peacefully passed away on October 16, 2022, at Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 9, 1959, she was the daughter of the late James Ott Baxley and Sandra (Andrews) Baxley.

Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, Laurie graduated from Lawrence Regional Vocational High School in 1977 and worked at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home as a nurse's aide. She had a great work ethic and loved to take care of others. She could instantly make friends with anyone and always had a smile on her face.

Laurie was an amazing wife, mother, sister, and daughter. She had a heart of gold and had a positive impact on everyone in her life. Laurie met the love of her life, Ed, at Raytheon where she worked for seventeen years. She will be dearly missed.

Along with her parents, Laurie is pre-deceased by her daughter, Crystal Marie Amaral; her brother, Keith Baxley, as well as her grandmother and grandfather.

Laurie will be deeply missed and is survived by her beloved husband of twenty-nine years, Edward Amaral; her brother, Lawrence "Larry" Baxley; sister, Lori Baxley McDevitt; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members; as well as Marie Zaboya, who was like a mother to her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, October 24, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Riverside Congregational Church, 290 Water St., Lawrence. The family would like to express that it is optional for guests to wear a mask to the calling hours and service.
