Melrose (Atkinson-Sanbornville, NH) - Atkinson-Sanbornville: With deep sadness we announce that Lewis Charles Stevens "Chucky" passed away on Thursday, October 21, in the comfort of his son's home. He fought a hard battle with cancer and heart disease and was blessed to be surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 6, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and was a graduate of Melrose High in Melrose, MA.
He is predeceased by his parents Charles Stevens and Thelma Stevens (Slack); his aunt Ruth Frank and cousin Winifred Frank. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Shirley Stevens (Penny) Atkinson, NH; his son Christopher Lewis Stevens (Nancy) Dover NH; his daughter Elizabeth Kerri Stevens Burlington, VT; his grandchildren Oliver Stevens, Caleigh Elizabeth Judge and Grayson Vincent Judge; his sisters Laurel King Penacook, NH, and Deborah Bryant Denmark, ME. His cousins David and Stanley Flint and niece Tammy N. Matthew Prichard. He is also survived by great-nieces and -nephews as well as many dear friends.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy after which he worked as an Associate Engineer for Lucent Technology until retirement. He loved to draw and was an avid reader. Above all he loved being at their summer home on Lovell Lake. His love of boating was infectious to all who knew him.

A spreading of ashes and Celebration of Life will be held at Lovell Lake Summer of 2022. Arrangements are under the direction of Purdy Funeral Service Dover, NH.
