LOWELL - Lillian T. (LaBelle) Woolfall, 93, a resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died Tuesday, October 1, 2024, surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of Frederick J. Woolfall, Sr., with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Their wedding was celebrated at St. Rita's Church on September 20, 1958. She was born in Chelmsford on September 9, 1931, daughter of the late Thomas P. and Evelyn M. (Gagnon) LaBelle. She attended St. Michael's Grammar School through 8th grade and attended Lowell High School where she graduated at the young age of 16. She was a member of the National Honor Society in her senior year.

Upon graduating High School Lillian passed the Civil service exam but due to being only 16 years of age, she couldn't work in that capacity until she turned 18. In the meantime she worked at the Merrimack Movie Theatre in Lowell on the candy and popcorn counter. She quickly was asked to work in the office of the manager and handled daily and evening ticketing for the theatre. Being the second oldest of 8, she helped to take care of her siblings after school when her parents were working.

Lillian later worked at Ayer signal Corp where they made IDs for soldiers. When she turned 18, she then qualified to work for the US government at Fort Devens in the Payroll Department Processing Civilian payroll. Lillian met her husband, Fred socially at The Commodore Ballroom in Lowell. They enjoyed ballroom dancing throughout their married life.

She continued to work until she had her first child and then devoted her life to raising her family. Lillian was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell and was a devout Catholic. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

She was in a bowling league with her sister Irene Paquin for many years at the Brunswick Bowling Alley and they won many tournaments and trophy's together. Lillian and her family spent many years enjoying their beach home in Salisbury.

She moved to Chelmsford Crossing in April of 2019.

Lillian is survived by a loving family, her daughter, Karen A. (Woolfall) McManimon and son David T. Woolfall and his wife, Donna (Weir) Woolfall. She had five grandchildren, Brian, Kevin (who predeceased her) Steven Eric and Matthew. She is also survived by two brothers, Bro. Paul LaBelle, CFX of Danvers and Robert P. LaBelle of New Hampshire. She is also survived by a sister Evelyn Carrigg of California numerous nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Edward LaBelle of North Easton, the late Irene Paquin and the late Joseph LaBelle of Chelmsford.

Relatives and friends are invited to Lillian's Life Celebration at the McKenna-Ouellette Funeral Home, 327 Hildreth St., Lowell, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church 3 Fayette St., Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
