East Hampsted, NH - Lindsey J. Cummings, 36, of Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of East Hampstead, N.H., died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 19, 2020, in her home in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Born in Stoneham, Mass., she was the daughter of Thomas Cummings and the late Jean (Liddell) Cummings. Lindsey grew up in East Hampstead after the family moved there from Everett, Mass., when she was three years old. She was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, class of 2001, and attended Southern New Hampshire University. For almost 10 years she worked as a receptionist at Lord's & Lady's Hair Salon in Salem, N.H. She loved her job there and considered her salon girls family. Since moving to Brooklyn, N.Y., Lindsey was working as a sales and marketing representative for Team Enterprises.
Known as "Doodle" to her family and friends, Lindsey was as beautiful inside as she was out. Her larger than life smile could brighten up any room. She accepted everyone and always made anyone around her feel welcome and at ease. Never taking life too seriously, Lindsey loved to have fun and help others to laugh and enjoy life. And like a true fashionista, she always looked great as the life of the party with her style and love for shoes. Living in New York City is something she also loved, but always looked forward to the annual summer trip to Old Orchard Beach to celebrate her sister's birthday, like the best big sister she was. She also loved animals, especially the family dog Pickle who always made Lindsey smile.
Lindsey will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her father, Thomas Cummings, her younger sister and best friend Robyn Cummings and her longtime partner Nickolas Smith, who Lindsey considered a brother, of East Hampstead, N.H.; uncles, Ken Liddell and his wife Angela of Gulfport, Fla., Robert Liddell and his wife Jill of Enfield, Conn., John Liddell and his wife Joan of Somerville, Mass., as well as many cousins, Robyn's best friends whom Lindsey loved as her little sisters, and many, many friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Jean (Liddell) Cummings; her maternal grandparents Kenneth and Edna Liddell; and her aunt Pat Cummings.

Private family burial services will take place under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home. A Life Celebration for Lindsey will take place at a later date. Please consider making a donation in her memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 89 South St., Suite LL01, Boston, MA 02111 or by visiting www.komen.org.
