Marlene Doris LaPerriere Obituary

West Newbury - Marlene D. (Demers) LaPerriere, 88, of West Newbury and a former longtime resident of Willie Street in Haverhill, died peacefully on February 19, 2026, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by her family.

Born in Methuen, Marlene was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Doris (Goulet) Demers and attended Sacred Heart School in Lawrence. After moving to Haverhill with her family, she attended Saint James High School and graduated with the Class of 1955.

Marlene was first employed as the credit manager at Booker-Scott Jewelers and later as an operator at the Social Security Office in Haverhill. She last worked for thirty-one years as the bookkeeper at Demers Plate Glass Co. in Haverhill.

A member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish, Marlene played tennis as a young woman and took part in the Haverhill City Tournaments. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and cooking. A loving wife and mother, she created a warm and loving home for her husband and children and later in her life she was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and never forgot the birthday of family or friends. She enjoyed meeting new people wherever she went and gathered people together and held them in her heart.

Predeceased in 2015 by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Leon LaPerriere, Marlene will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her twin daughters and their husbands, Lisa and Kevin Bean of Atkinson, NH and Lori and Rick Magoon of Haverhill, her son and his wife, Michael L. and Nicole LaPerriere of West Newbury, with whom she made her home in recent years; eight grandchildren, Lindsey (Magoon) Marshall, Ashlynn (Bean) Boston, Aubrey (Bean) Foy, Ryan Magoon, Brett LaPerriere, Adam LaPerriere, Tayla (Osborne) Shirley, and Brooke Osborne, an honorary granddaughter, Lucy Derosia; eight great-grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law Dr. Lawrence M. and Susan Demers of Elizabethtown, PA a brother-in-law John Micavich of Amherst, NH,

Several nieces and nephews and her friend and caregiver Angelina. She was also predeceased by her sister, Cynthia (Demers) Micavich in July of 2025

Relatives and friends are invited to Marlene's calling hours to be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will begin on Tuesday morning, March 3, 2026, at 9.a.m from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial at 10a.m. in All Saints Church, Haverhill.
