Lawrence, MA - Mary Veronica (Buckley) Haynes, 101, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2019 at the M.I. Restorative and Skilled Nursing Center in Lawrence.
Born in Lawrence, Mary was educated in the Lawrence Schools and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She had worked at the former Cherry and Webb for some 15 years. Mary had been a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 8, the Friends of Central Catholic, the Friends of Merrimack College and the St. Patrick's Ladies Sodality.
The widow of George J. Haynes, Mary is survived by her sons Dr. George Haynes and his wife Sharon of Kirtland, OH and Thomas Haynes and his wife, Janis of Salem, NH. She is also survived by her brother John J. Buckley and his wife Patricia of Chelmsford, MA as well as 5 grandchildren: Thomas Haynes, Jr., Ellen Johnson, Mia Haynes, Alexandra Haynes and Elizabeth Haynes. Mary is also survived by a great-grandchild Jackson Haynes and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters: Dorothy Kiley, Marjorie Woodworth, Winifred Buckley and Virginia Buckley.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday prior to the services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to Central Catholic High School, 300 Hampshire St., Lawrence, MA, 01841.
