AMESBURY, MA - Michael Michel, 64, of Amesbury, Mass., passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at The Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. He was the devoted husband of Joanne M. Curtis. Michael was born May 7, 1953, in Haverhill, Mass., the son of Margaret (Boss) Michel and the late George Michel.

He was raised in Methuen and attended local schools. Michael was employed as a truck driver and also worked for many years in landscaping. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed his trips to Foxwoods with his beloved wife, Joanne. Michael loved the outdoors and was an accomplished fisherman who also enjoyed camping. He was a terrific spirit who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Joanne M. Curtis; two sons, Christopher Masha, and Michael Michel; five daughters, Jamie Michel, Melanie Michel, Stacy Curtis, Lori Michel, and Vicki Michel; 12 beloved grandchildren, and one great-grandson, all who lovingly called him "Bampy." He also leaves behind his mother, Margaret (Boss) Michel; two brothers, Mark Michel, and Barry Michel; and two sisters, Donna Medina, and husband, Robert, and Deborah Buckley, and husband, Kevin. He will also be remembered by several nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
